17/10/2023 - Ruth González

This is a practically new trail that has been enabled by the City Council of Teror, To promote the beauty of the Álamo ravine and active tourism. The Alamo Trail and the Stairs Teror

The route starts from the same Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pino, in the heart of the town of Teror. Later it runs through the neighborhood and Alamo ravine, passing through the El Muñigal and La Molineta bridges. Keep in mind that the difference in level is just 190 meters, so we could recommend it for children and those who are just starting out. hiking in Gran Canaria. Still, keep in mind that The first stairs are 4 meters high, so you have to be careful.

Furthermore, although it is a flat route, the El Alamo trail status in Teror It will depend a lot on the rains. That is, the path and stairs can be somewhat slippery. Therefore, we recommend good hiking equipment. Finally, keep in mind that going up the stairs is easy, but not recommended for people with vertigo. It is recommended to hold on and use only one person simultaneously to climb. If you go with small children, obviously don't let them go up alone. In any case, as we say, it is one of the routes of hiking to go with children in Gran Canaria that we recommend on the blog.

Equally, If you plan to come with your pet, you should keep in mind that it will hardly be able to climb those stairs because of how small the steps are. If it is a dog that does not weigh much, you can carry it in your arms or backpack.

From what I understand in the comments there are two routes, a long one and a short one... Doing the circular route would you leave the ravine where you would leave the car at the beginning?
Thanks in advance and thanks for the dissemination work.

Hi Lourdes! The route starts very close to the town, so you can park near the Iglesia del Pino and descend to the ravine, I don't know if the town hall has marked it yet... If you want to support our content, by purchasing the track we will help you continue the path and know where it comes from exactly. In any case, thank you very much for your support. A hug 🙂

Hello! We did the short route of one kilometer in one hour, passing through the two stairs and we loved it. There were my parents who are seventy-five years old, my niece of 24 who was going for the third time, my daughter of 9 and me and also a weima pointer of barely one year who climbed the stairs with my niece like a champion. Totally recommended.

Hi, it's a shame I couldn't get past the first few stairs, since if you have pets they must be small and you can carry them in your arms. We had 3 large dogs and it was impossible because the stairs are too steep, the steps are very narrow and the gap between each step is very big. This experience was only for going up, because going down is not even a possibility for me.
    Thank you

Hello Yasmina!!! Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. We decided not to take our dogs for that reason, first we wanted to inspect the land... We hope that the time you have dedicated to leaving this comment will be useful to many readers 🙂 A hug!
