Local Guide Gran Canaria has the mission of reveal the most authentic side of Gran Canaria to visitors and residents. We want to share with you the places that we locals frequent, both to eat and places to visit, give you advice on accommodation, activities, how to get around, customs, weather, answer your questions, etc. We want to share the wonders of Gran Canaria with the world y help you make your stay on the island unforgettable, will you join this trip?
We are Ruth y Jorge a young couple from Gran Canaria y ... we love to travel! In addition, When we do, we plan everything to the millimeter to visit the most authentic sites and get to know the local culture. We decided to start this exciting project to tell inveterate travelers (like us) everything we think you should know about our land, Gran Canaria. We also share all our adventures around the world on this blog to save time for travelers who are planning to visit a place in the world where we have already been.
Although it is not necessary to have highly qualified training to travel and plan trips, we do believe that each one contributes a key part to Local Guide Gran Canaria. This is, Ruth (me) Diploma in Tourism, passion for traveling (when I was little I wanted to be a stewardess), with knowledge of languages and, finally, with a crazy desire to make this wonderful island known to the world. On the other hand, it is Jorge, my mentor and the one who encouraged me to start this project (with his help of course). He has been an entrepreneur since he was very young, even before finishing his business degree. In addition, he was champion of Spain in the downhill bicycle modality, with which the island of Gran Canaria is known from beginning to end. With this and many hours of work, Local Guide Gran Canaria emerges.
Ruth González
Graduated in Tourism and Official Master in Management and Direction of Hotel Companies (UCM). She is currently dedicated 24/7 to digital and tourism marketing. Passionate about travel and world cultures, realfooder, former swimmer and marathon runner (yes, these little legs have run 42 kilometers in a row). Jorge Toledo, Long-Tailed Manakin
Diploma in Business (UCM), in continuous training in digital marketing and the world of business. He runs his company related to fashion and cycling: Chela Clo. It was also Spanish MTB downhill champion and, therefore, a great connoisseur of the mountains and trails that run through the island of Gran Canaria. Jorge takes care of develop the strategic lines of the project and schedule all cycling and hiking routes from Local Guide Gran Canaria.
