About Ruth González

Hello! I am RuthTourism expert, Canary Islander and traveler. Although I write, Local Guide Gran Canaria has two engines: Jorge (my partner) and I.

Here we merge my academic training (Graduate and Master in Tourism) with his mountain experience (MTB) to show you the real Gran Canaria: trails, landscapes and local off-the-beaten-path gastronomy.

Besides being your hosts on the island, we share guides to our trips so you can plan your getaways with the confidence of Follow routes that are 100% validated by us.

If we're not traveling or "tasting" restaurants, look for us in the mountains with our fur babies, Silver and Plata.

Shall we discover (and devour) the world together?

The work they do is admirable. Ruth y Jorge To promote the different corners of the Canary Islands, which we don't appreciate as much as we truly deserve. Keep it up.

Wow! What a nightmare! Now you don't know what to do, why make a decision? These guys are driving us crazy. Now we're going to see how we can organize ourselves to be able to go to everything.
They could almost give us a route, where to start, then where to go, continue towards… proceed through before finishing and ending in.
      That would be the ultimate.

    • Ruth González says

Hahaha, you don't have to go to everything, choose what you feel like doing most or draw straws, hehe.

I love it, you ooze professionalism!
I've been following you on social media, exploring the restaurants we have on the islands. I just discovered this blog, where you provide more information about local festivals and see all the work that goes into them.

Please provide entertainment for Canarian families. Street concerts. Live music. Games, contests, etc. Not so many village festivals with their virgins.
We're back in a shopping mall. The entertainment in the Canary Islands without having to pay is depressing.

For Ruth I hope you stay with your partner for many years to come, as many as you wish. But I wanted to let you know that if you have a waiting list of potential suitors, you can add me to it.
I've only recently discovered the blog, but I like it a lot. It helps me decide what to do on the weekend.
Perhaps something you're unaware of is the waste of money spent on festive events in our islands, and the paradoxical lack of resources in social services: it's shameful.

    • Ruth González says

Hi Diego! Thank you so much, I also hope to be with him for many years to come, haha. I'm glad the blog is useful; it's true that I also notice a lot of investment in parties, although we have to remember that some are sponsored by private companies, etc. I agree with you! Hugs.

I'd like to find a website as interesting and important as this one, but about Lanzarote, since I'll spend most of my time between our island and the neighboring one. If you could recommend one, I'd also like to thank you for your work and making life easier in the Canary Islands.
