Águila Beach is located in the south of Gran Canaria, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It is a beach mainly shut up or boulders, although When the tide goes out, the golden sand appears. In the next lines we are going to tell you more details about this beach.
Aguila Beach
As you can see in the images we show you, the beach is quite large. They are approximately 450 meters long and, when the tide goes out, you can go from one side of the beach to the other. The first photo we show where you can see the white lighthouse is on the other side of the large building that we see below.
This piece of building that at the time they built practically in the sea, is the Águila Playa. It is mainly a private housing complex. It is a shame that they have allowed this construction to be built inside the sand, since it clearly impacts the landscape of the area. Right in this building is the El Rincón Canario restaurant. A spectacular place to eat canarian food with sea views.
Finally, you should know that the beach does not have hammock service, toilets, showers or footbaths. The good thing is that it has a fairly large parking area and that you have the restaurant on the beach itself. So if you want to have a drink and/or use the bathroom, you have it just a few steps away.
Near Playa del Águila you also can visit Happy Bay, since it is located within a very short walking distance. In addition, very close are the beaches of Pirata and Saint Augustine and you can also reach both by walking.
Apartments in Playa del Águila
In this area of the island there are several apartments where you can enjoy some quiet holiday with sea views. In fact, it is one of the best areas where to stay in Gran Canaria, in our humble opinion. For example, the Sun club which are located next to the lighthouse that we show below. Very close there are also the Acapulco Ocean View, almost reaching the Pirate beach.
