Salinetas beach is known for being one of the most familiar in the municipality of Telde, on the east coast of Gran Canaria. Like most beaches in the area, it has fine black sand. In the following lines we are going to tell you a little more about Salinetas, what to do and where to eat in the area.
Salinetas Beach
As we said, Salinetas is a beach that has a very good atmosphere and environment for families. It has approximately 250 meters in length, so it is not very big. Furthermore, when the tide rises, it remains somewhat small as happens with the Ojos de Garza beach. It has shower and bathroom service, both adapted for people with reduced mobility. At the same time, it has a lifeguard during the summer months and every weekend and holiday of the year. Salinetas Beach has the Blue Flag given its accessibility, services and characteristics. Next to the beach, there are various pools for bathing, like the one shown below.
To park in Salinetas there are several options next to the access road. Otherwise, another option would be to park next to the Melenara beach and walk the walk that connects both beaches. Both options are free. The walk between Melenara and Salinetas is very beautiful and pleasant, so we also recommend that you walk through it, wherever you park.
In addition, It has a nice viewpoint from which you can get a good panoramic view of the beach and enjoy the sunset.. You should keep in mind that, despite being surrounded by beachfront homes, it is sometimes a quite windy beach.
Where to eat in Salinetas
Salinetas has several establishments nearby, even right on the beach. However, we do not have good references from places in the area. We recommend you take a jump to the neighboring beach, Melenara to the restaurant The Wizard Karlín. Even if you like fish and seafood, in the Taliarte Fishermen's Guild you have a very good offer canarian food.
Of course, the restaurant is located on the Pier of Taliarte, so you do not have direct views of the sea. Even so, Its food and service are worth it and you can get there by taking a pleasant walk along the coast of about 20 minutes. Finally, if you like hot dogs, there is a very well-known place just a few steps from the beach, it is Salinetas Hot Dog.
Taliarte-Salinetas open water swimming channel
This walk is also known for connecting the famous swim crossing between Taliarte and Salinetas. Here we can say that there is a kind of 1000m distance channel for swimming. Therefore, if you are an open water swimmer or you simply like this sport, this is a good area in Gran Canaria to train. We recommend you bring your own buoy to avoid danger.
Apartments in Salinetas Beach
Salinetas is a very nice area to stay in Gran Canaria. You have all the services within walking distance and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y Maspalomas They are less than 30 minutes away by car.
