The Balcony Viewpoint or Green Platform It is one of the most impressive of Gran Canaria. It is also known as Mirador El Paso Marinero and is located next to the steep coast of The Village of San Nicolás. At the same time, it is located within the Tamadaba Natural Park, just in the southern part of it. Below, we give you all the details that you have to take into account if you want visit this hidden place on the island.
Mirador del Balcón, Gran Canaria
You should know that in 2021 the Mirador del Balcón It was completely renovated, We show you an image of what it was like before. Currently, it is a super modern walkway surrounded by glass with vertiginous views.
As we said, from here you will have incredible views of part of the west coast of Gran Canaria. Perhaps it cannot be seen much from this point, but its peaked mountains make its relief resemble the tail of a dragon. On clear and cloudless days we can also have a nice view of Tenerife, and see the sunset. In any case, it is usually a windy area, I hope you are lucky and when you visit the wind is calmer. If you want to know how to get there, we'll tell you!
How to get to the Balcón Viewpoint
The Mirador del Balcón is very close to the town of The Village of San Nicolás. Specifically, on the old coastal road that linked La Aldea with Agaete and vice versa. To get here you must go by car from Agaete towards La Aldea and take the Mirador del Balcón detour before reaching La Aldea, follow the instructions of Google Maps. Note that road that leads to the viewpoint from Agaete is beautiful, but it is also full of curves. If you go with children or do you tend to get dizzy, It is important that Travel with the windows open and do not read maps or look at cell phones en route.
Andén Verde, Gran Canaria
You should know that there is also the old abandoned Andén Verde viewpoint on the road to Finca Tirma. To get here you must go along the same road from Agaete towards La Aldea and take the “Finca Tirma” detour. It is a dead-end road and to get to the viewpoint you must pass a green fence.
Note that here You must be careful since there is no fence y It could be dangerous. What you find right in front of you is the abyss as seen in the following photo. However, you will have beautiful views of Agaete and the unspoiled coast of La Aldea.

Hello, yesterday we visited the green balcony or platform and the views are beautiful, but the owner of the beach bar, who you can see when you arrive, is the meanest man I have met on these islands to date. We asked him a few questions and he treated us in a very bad way. I will never go there again and if possible I will tell anyone who asks me about this unpleasant experience.

Good night. I am going to stay in Agaete and I would like to visit the balcony viewpoint. If I put it on Google maps it tells me that to get there I have to go around the island. Is it a mistake or is the road closed? We are going next weekend and I would love to see it.
Local Guide Gran Canaria says
Good morning Angels!
The road is not closed, it is a Google Maps error, possibly due to the ongoing works. We have asked several people who live in La Aldea 🙂
In any case, you have to be careful if it rains the day you are going to go because sometimes they close that road due to landslides!
All the best

Hello, congratulations for your page.
I am going to spend a week in Agaete and I would like to do some route. From the Balcón viewpoint is it possible to do some simple round trip routes, no more than one or two hours? Thank you so much
Local Guide Gran Canaria says
Hello José Mari! How delicious, a week in Agaete, who could 🙂 I tell you, from this area you have the option of doing the Charco Azul route, which is about 15 minutes by car from the Mirador del Balcón. It is quite easy, which now will not have much water because it has barely rained. We leave you the information below:
