In this entry we want to invite you to visit the Veneguera Protected Natural Area, one of the least accessible corners of Gran Canaria. This enclave is located within the municipality of Mogán and is characterized by the tranquility provided by its landscapes and rural life. In the next lines we are going to give you more details about this little piece of the island in the shape of a ravine that we Gran Canarian people love so much.
What to see in Veneguera, Gran Canaria
En Veneguera you can visit one of the most authentic and traditional towns in Gran Canaria. Around 300 people live here and the majority are dedicated to the agricultural sector. In fact, in the ravine The mango, banana and avocado plantations stand out. Regarding the town, we recommend a walk through its small 18th century farmhouse known as Los Almácigos. Here you can see the traditional Veneguera houses built with stones, mud, lime and wood. Likewise, just a few meters away is the centenary cardinal of Veneguera. The cardón is an endemic species of the Canary Islands and some of the largest specimens on the island are found here.
On the other hand, another reason why we believe you should visit Veneguera is to disconnect from the savage capitalism in which we have immersed ourselves. As soon as you arrive you will be able to feel the peace and calm with which people live here. You must know that this would not have been possible if the Canarian citizens had not mobilized in the face of the constant interests of urbanizing Veneguera for tourist purposes. The phrase “Save Veneguera” was present everywhere and in the media. However, we were lucky to have won this battle, since the area was protected and since 2003 part of the Nublo Rural Park.
Veneguera Beach
Veneguera beach is calm and clean waters. It has callaos or bowling, but it also has an area with dark sand. When the tide is very low, there is a beach spectacular. Here you will be able do nudism and enjoy disconnection, since it barely has coverage.
Likewise, keep in mind that since it is a virgin area and difficult to access, Here you will not have any type of service or surveillance. That is, the closest civilized place is the town of Veneguera and you see that only 300 people live there. On the other hand, being located to the west of Gran Canaria, from here you will be able enjoy a beautiful sunset.
✔ How to get to Veneguera
As we told you at the beginning, getting to Veneguera from other parts of Gran Canaria is quite tedious, since it involves more than an hour of driving on curvy roads. Also If you want to visit its beach, keep in mind that the road is not paved and it is approximately 9 kilometers from the town. With what you add 40 more minutes of land travel until you reach paradise. In any case, the road itself is very beautiful and, if you're not in a hurry, You will be surprised to see yourself surrounded by cardones, fruit plantations and palm trees.
This dirt road makes its coast a very quiet place that few dare to reach. Even so, On weekends and during the summer months, groups of friends gather in vans who come to spend the weekend. on the beach. So if you are looking for peace and can choose, avoid those days.
The Tiles of Veneguera
Another attraction of the area that you cannot miss if you have already come here is to visit Tiles. In fact, many call them The Tiles of Veneguera. This natural resource is only about 5 minutes by car from the town. Look how beautiful!
Video
Below you can see the video of this route that runs through Veneguera. The restaurant we visited this day is already closed. You can subscribe to our YouTube Channel so you don't miss upcoming videos around Gran Canaria.
And this has been the review of recommendations to make in this remote place in Gran Canaria. You are already taking a while to organize your visit to Veneguera and a dip in the beach. Remember that if you come from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, you can go along the southern highway and return along the Agaete-La Aldea coastal road or vice versa. We who live in the north, the day we made the video we went through the interior and returned through the village. If you come from Maspalomas o Puerto de Mogán, the ideal is that you go and return along the highway inside Mogán. In any case, Mentalize yourself that this day is road trip, so go find the Spotify list that you like the most : )

What you say is very true, but keep in mind that you can do nudism if you can but it is not a nesting beach and in addition it is also prohibited to camp or hang out on all the beaches in the municipality.
