Visit the Tasarte Beach It is quite an adventure, since it is one of the furthest points from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, just on the opposite side. Tasarte beach is located about 15 minutes from the town of the same name, in the municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás, West of Gran Canaria. In the town of Tasarte there are various bars, supermarkets, etc. and After several kilometers of roads surrounded by mangoes, papayas and avocados, we find a wide beach of shut up or boulders.

Bar Oliva, Tasarte beach (already closed)
Although it is now closed, we would like to leave this photo of the famous old octopus clothes from Tasarte that we told you about (at least as a souvenir). If you read us from the outside, old clothes are a plate of canarian food. Normally, it has chicken, pork and/or beef, chickpeas, pepper, potatoes, onion and tomato. In this case, this beachfront bar was one of the pioneers on the island in preparing it with octopus, instead of with any other meat. We miss her...

How to get to Tasarte beach
To get here from the city, the ideal is to go north. It's almost two hours by car on a coastal road with many curves, but it's worth it.. Additionally, you can make stops at Agaete, The village y The risk. If you go from the south of the island, it is better to go through the Mogán Valley which will take you little more than an hour. During this journey we recommend a replenishing juice in the Los Azulejos Fountain.

You should know that once you arrive at the town of Tasarte, to go to the beach it is about 11 more kilometers, don't despair. The path starts from this point, whether you come from the north or the south. Almost reaching the beach, the road becomes dirt for approximately 1 kilometer. It is usually in good condition. We show it to you below.

As you can see below, the journey is very beautiful. This entire area is part of the Biosphere Reserve, quite virgin. You will be able to see plantations of mangoes and other fruits in a totally rural environment with very typical landscapes of the Canary Islands. They remind us of those of the La Gomera island.

Thank you very much for bringing us closer to those wonderful and hidden places of our Island.
You're welcome 🙂
Thank you for publishing this post otherwise I would not have discovered this wonder. The place is magical and even more so if you go with good company.
Easy and intuitive access. Great food. We ordered a bottle of local white wine, garlic tomato salad, octopus clothes and flan with cream. Everything was delicious and good. Totally recommended. We didn't swim on the beach because we wanted sand, but going to eat and spending a few hours there is great.
Thank you very much and greetings!
