In this article we share with you a gravel bike excursion, an initiative of the Napa bikes departing from the Guanarteme neighborhood, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The route goes to Firgas, but if you want to make it circular you will have to add about 30 more kilometers to return to Las Palmas through Arucas. We tell you everything below!
Agricultural Trails on Gravel Bike
First, you will cross the city on the bike path that passes through Paseo de Chil. Later you will arrive at Barranco de Guiniguada, a route that runs along a wide dirt track and is very popular among locals for mountain biking.. After finishing this track, you will reach the well-known Canary Garden. Then, the route continues on asphalt passing La Calzada to reach the entrance to a dirt track that runs through the Santa Brígida ravine. This route also passes through the municipalities of Telde and Saint Brigid.
Once you leave La Gavia (Telde) behind, a climb begins that becomes tough due to its inclination. Therefore, you will miss more climbing developments to face the climb of the Black Mountain, above the town of San Mateo. At this point, you could link the route to any other side (it will take you about 48 km). Here we take the opportunity to take a break in the town of San Mateo and eat a good sandwich. You now value the strength you have left.

To complete the circle (about 100 km) we would need to return to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by bike, passing through Arucas. As you can see in the track, the route leaves from Vegueta, passes through the Guanarteme neighborhood (Napa store) and returns to Vegueta to go to the Barranco de Guiniguada. Therefore, you can skip this part since it is all per city.
