In this entry we are going to talk to you about a Route to do on an enduro bike through the area of Firgas, in the north of Gran Canaria. It is a circular it is quite unknown, since it does not pass through any path on which a local MTB competition has been held. Next, we give you all the details so you can do it on your own.
Enduro in Firgas – La Húmeda
On the day we did this route it was pouring rain. There was a lot of mud and it took us a little longer than usual. That is why we have decided to call it La Húmeda. In total it took 2 hours and 35 minutes to travel the 22 km with 850 m of elevation gain. We recommend that you do it with a Enduro bike or All Mountain. Although depending on your level, you can even do it with an XC bike with care in some technical downhill area. We can rate the medium technical level route. You have all the information below:
Distance | 22 km |
Total promotion/demotion | 850 m |
Estimated time | 2 / 3 hours |
Minimum drink | 1 l |
Minimal food | 500 Kcal |
Shops on the road | Si |
Technical level | Medium |
Recommended bike | Enduro/All Mountain |
The route begins at the same Los Chorros restaurant (Firgas) along a path and wooded area with quite sticky red soil. There is an area where You will probably have to "climb" a little while off the bike, helping yourself with your companions to raise the saddles. After a few meters of pedaling on a dirt track, they take us to the first curves that connect with the road that reminds us of the island of La Palma, already anticipating what fun we are going to have.
This trail is amazing. It will make you enjoy the bike a lot. It is narrow and steep. It looks like a jungle. It is usually full of vegetation, but if you find it clean as is the case, it is incredible. Dry or wet you can go down very well, because its land drains a lot and the forestation means that the rains do not fall heavily on the terrain. During the track, there are parts where you can look out from viewpoints that overlook the ravine. Although with how fun the path is, before you realize it you will already be at the end of the ravine.
