Taliarte pier is a coastal area in the municipality of Telde, west of Gran Canaria. Here there is a small fisherman’s wharf, a lighthouse and a swimming area. Taliarte has something special that you cannot miss and we are going to tell you about it in the following lines. Let’s go!

Taliarte pier, a 100% local place
For sun and sea lovers, there is a bathing area with stairs to access to the water next to the Taliarte pier. There are also some tatami mats for sunbathing. Here many take advantage of the calm waters to paddle surf and kayak.

On the other hand, the area of Taliarte is well known, since from here a 1000 meter long open water swimming channel starts that reaches the Salinetas beach.

Similarly, from Taliarte you can go for a walk to Melenara beach and even reach Salinetas beach through a pleasant avenue.

As we said at the beginning, here you will also find one of the lighthouses that illuminate the coast of Gran Canaria, as well as one of the most important fishermen’s piers on the island. And it is that the restaurant of the Fishermen’s Association is one of the best places to eat fresh fish in Gran Canaria.

Taliarte Fishermen’s Guild
One of the best things you can do in the area is eat good fresh fish and Canarian food at the Taliarte Fishermen’s Guild. Here we love how they prepare fried fish. You should try the local fish named vieja or fula del país. The breaded is made with chickpea flour and it is simply spectacular.

In this restaurant we also love mussels, belly salad, octopus and the calamari. A must on the island!
Holiday homes in Taliarte
This area of the island is highly recommended to spend a few days on vacation. It has spectacular holiday homes such as the well-known Taliarte Lighthouse.
