On this occasion we share with you a gravel bike route that leaves from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and reaches Pico de Las Nieves. Pico de Las Nieves is the second highest point in Gran Canaria with almost 2000 meters of altitude. Therefore, you can already imagine what the route is like. It is a circular route, perfect for doing on any mountain bike. It runs along tracks and paths of little difficulty. Technically it is easy, but physically it requires being in good shape.

From Las Palmas de GC to Pico de Las Nieves by bike: tips
From Telde Until Pico de Las Nieves you will barely find places to shop. You can only get water in the ravine that begins after the Valley of the Nine, where there is a small fountain to the left of the gravel track. Approximately after one or two kilometers it becomes land. Therefore it is It is important that you carry at least 1 liters of water. Especially on hot days. And we recommend you at least 5 energy bars since we left Telde.

Once at Pico de Las Nieves you will have magnificent views of the The Roque Nublo and to the El Teide peak (Tenerife). Many cyclists usually buy ammunition from a small van that sells food and drink in the area.
Route characteristics
Once in El Pico, practically everything is downhill. On the route track we went on asphalt, but there is the possibility of looking for dirt roads. Although they would be much more technical than the ones we used to climb. There is a stretch of loose peak in La Caldera de Los Marteles, where you will probably have to carry your Gravel Bike or MTB bike.. Maybe some Fat Bike with low tire pressure can overcome it...

This circular route is 102 km, reaching 3000 m of total ascent. Approximately 40% of it runs over dirt or gravel. More paths could be chosen, but we would need up to 10 hours to complete it. In the case of the itinerary that we share with you in this post, It took us 7 hours to complete it.
