Circular MTB route from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The interesting thing about this route is that we are going to avoid going back the same way. We recommend that you start the route in Las Palmas de GC, to end with a happy ending with good views from the Los Giles viewpoint.

Once we arrived at the airport along the coast by bike, The route crosses the highway through a tunnel to follow tracks towards Four doors. Later it heads north to the Barranco de Las Goteras. Here the route climbs along tracks and paths until tafira. From here it connects with the legendary Los Giles route to end in the Las Canteras beach. An unbeatable ending.
What is the best bike to do this route?
We advise you one Rigid MTB or Gravel, since there really is not too much technical level during the route. There are some kilometers that you will pass on roads or rolling tracks. Also passes through some sandy area where you will have to carry the bike, but nothing relevant.
What level is necessary for this route?
If you are a beginner you could do at least 60% of the route to the airport. Up to this point there is practically no gradient, so there are no climbs. So if you got tired here, you could just turn around the same way you came. On the contrary, if you still want more adventures and climb a little higher, we recommend that you follow the track until the end, because there are many parts of the route that are little known and you feel like you are "lost" in the middle of nature.
One of the most beautiful areas of the route passes through the Tufia beach which we show in the previous image.

Hi guys. Congratulations on the super website. Very interesting.
I will spend 15 days at Christmas on your wonderful island. In order not to bring my gravel I was thinking of renting one there for a few days. Do you know any store that rents in Las Palmas? I'm sure I'll download a few routes.
Thank you very much, congratulations from Menorca 😍

Hello Marcello!! Thank you very much for your comment, you make our day 🙂 Unfortunately gravel hasn't really caught on here yet and there are no places to rent. Have you considered bringing it to you? The biggest bike rental company is Free Motion, but they specialize in road bikes, they also have enduro bikes, some all mountain bikes, trail bikes... take a look at their website. A hug and a thousand thanks again!

A great route! I have a question. As far as I know, the Goteras ravine is cut by a metal gate, because the owner of a property considers that the road is the channel of the ravine and that the road is his property. On the route you propose, how do they cross that area? Down the ravine bed and then jump over the wall? I tell you this because they may have a problem with the owner. It has already caught my attention. Greetings.

Hello Jose! Thank you very much for your comment. Yes, the route is very beautiful! There is a part in which you see the areas through which passage is prohibited, but where we went you can go without problem without jumping walls, fences, or passing through prohibited paths. One part is by trail and the other by road 🙂 Greetings!
