In this post we propose a bike route through Moya that is circular. The starting box is in Firgas, although much of the route passes through Moya. Likewise, we will pedal through the municipalities of Artenara y Gáldar. On this route you will be able to pass by the points of interest of Fontanales, Cuevas de Caballero and Pinos de Gáldar. Do not miss it!
Bike route through Moya
The entire first part is uphill and you can do it with any mountain bike. Of course, the lighter the better, since you will find many paved areas and also cement paths. Let's say the track is 40% on land. The issue is that in the downhill area, not even a Gravel Bike expert could do it entirely on the bike. An Enduro or XC dual suspension bike would be necessary to make it 100% assembled.
If you go with a rigid MTB or a gravel bike, you will have to walk downhill for about 500 meters in total, for a piconera. The rest is quite bearable. In the same way, going up you will also have to carry a half hour of the route in total.
Route characteristics
The route is 45 km in total and it took us a few 4 hours and a half making stops to record. We recommend bringing at least one and a half liters of water and about 600 kcal of food.
