Playa del Águila beach is located in the south of Gran Canaria, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It is a beach mainly of pebbles, although when the tide is low, the golden sand appears. In the next few lines we are going to tell you more details about this beach.

Playa del Águila beach
As you can see in the images that we show you, the beach is quite large. It is approximately 450 meters long and when the tide goes out, you can go from one side of the beach to the other. The first photo that we show where the white lighthouse is seen, is on the other side of the large building that we see below.

This huge building that at the time was built practically in the sea, is the Águila Playa. It is primarily a private housing complex. It is a shame that they have allowed this construction to be made within the sand, since it clearly impacts the landscape of the area. Right in this building is the El Rincón Canario restaurant. A spectacular place to eat Canarian food with views of the sea.

Finally, you should know that the beach does not have sun beds, toilets, showers or footbaths. The good thing is that it has a fairly large parking area and that you have the restaurant on the beach. So if you want to have a drink and / or use the bathroom, you have it just a few steps away.

Nearby Playa del Águila you can also visit Bahía Feliz, as it is a very short walking distance. Moreover, very close are the beaches of El Pirata and San Agustín and you can reach both also walking.
Apartaments in Playa del Águila
In this area of the island there are several apartments where you can enjoy a quiet vacation with views of the sea. In fact, it is one of the areas that we recommend to stay in Gran Canaria. For example, the Sub Club apartments that are next to the lighthouse that we show you below. Also nearby are the Acapulco Ocean View and the Marinasol, almost reaching the Pirata beach.
