Playa del Cabrón is located in the municipality of Agüimes. Specifically, just 5 minutes by car from the town of arinaga. It stands out for being a beach that is not touristy or crowded, in addition to the transparency of its waters. It is made of blonde sand, although it also has some volcanic rock formations. It is almost 300 meters long, making it small. We can say that it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Gran Canaria.
Main characteristics of Cabrón beach
Below, we detail everything you need to know if you intend to discover this beautiful beach in Gran Canaria.
1. Diving at Cabrón beach
The Bastard It is one of the favorite places to practice diving in Gran Canaria, One activities in Gran Canaria that we recommend you do.
2. No services
On Cabrón beach There are no services of any kind: no showers, no toilets, no restaurants, hammocks or umbrellas.. Parking is on a dirt lot that is just a few steps away. Bring enough food and drink to spend as much time as you want!
3. It is not accessible for people with reduced mobility
Access to the sand is complicated, since You have to go down some dirt roads from the parking lot and even some uneven steps. The area itself is practically intact and semi-virgin, despite the constructions that surround it.
4. Dirt road
Access by car to Playa del Cabrón must be from the beaches of Arinaga or Vargas and on a dirt road.. These roads are not conditioned and the road has many holes and potholes. The easiest part is from Arinaga and even parking next to the Hostel (yellow circular building that we show in the next photo). It is better to walk 10 minutes than to destroy the car.
5. No surveillance
Generally the waters are calm and the beach has recently been patrolled. There is usually some wind, although nothing like the town of Arinaga where it blows stronger. The beach is in a kind of bay and is surrounded by houses, which makes it more sheltered.
6. Idyllic setting
Because it is not a very accessible beach, you can enjoy one of the best beaches on the island with complete peace of mind. It has views of the Arinaga Lighthouse.
Where can I eat near Playa del Cabrón?
The closest you have to El Cabrón is the Faro de Arinaga restaurant, in the lighthouse itself. We don't know him personally, but we have heard good things about him. Our proposal is that before you go to the beach, stop by La Vaquería Las Salinas and buy some pork leg sandwiches with soft Canarian cheese to take away. You can take it calmly on the beach and, in addition to saving a few euros, the enjoyment will be greater. Remember to pick up trash before you leave! 🙂
