El Guachinche Viña Cantera en Valsequillo es one of the few guachinches or gossip that we have in Gran Canaria. It is a house of canarian food in which they have own production and elaboration wine. The farm has around 50.000 m2 and more than twelve thousand grape strains are planted here, including listán negro, castellana, tintilla, malvasía, among others.
In addition, their menu includes products from their fruit trees and garden, as well as from the entire island. The environment in which it is located is totally rural, since it is surrounded by plantations of strawberries, potatoes and fruit trees.. Below we give you more details so, keep reading!
Guachinche Viña Cantera, local food in Valsequillo
As you know, we love it highlight authentic sites and the Guachinche Viña Cantera is undoubtedly a place of canarian food that should be within your options in Gran Canaria. We want to highlight the Homemade bread that they make with Indian prickly pear (you can see it in the previous photo). A delight, just like eating bread. Also, here you can try the famous Valsequillo cheeses a potato omelette with avocado from Valsequillo and delicious organic strawberries from the La Palma farm for dessert. That is, here you will find KM0 products, since the strawberry plantations are right next to the Guachinche.
On the other hand, they also have typical Canarian dishes such as potatoes with mojo, gofio weeding and olives from the country, which they also grow and macerate. We leave you with his letter below.
Here we have tested the chickpea, tomatoes dressed with Valsequillo avocados, potato omelette with avocado and grilled. As you can see, the portions are very generous. We couldn't finish the barbecue, it was the fault of the delicious bread hehe
Finally, For dessert you can delight in the strawberries from the La Palma organic farm.. Although you should not miss trying its homemade Catalan cream and its Artisanal gofio, almond and coffee ice creams which come accompanied with papaya from Guachinche and queque (cake).
Opening hours and reservations
The guachinche opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. and has an indoor dining room, as well as an outdoor terrace with views of the Valsequillo mountains and the farm. Part of the terrace is covered, so don't let it stop you from visiting this place on a cold or rainy day. We recommend you call and reserve with some time in advance, especially if you go on the weekend.
In the previous photo we see some of their outdoor tables and below you can see their indoor dining room with the products from the farm that they have for sale.
In Guachinche it is surrounded by strawberry plantations like the one we see below.

A GUACHINCHE MUST HAVE THREE KINDS OF FOOD. OWN HARVEST WINE. IT HAS NO ICE CREAM OR SOFT DRINKS. WHAT YOU HAVE IS A FOOD HOUSE. DON'T CONFUSE PEOPLE. [email protected]
