Yazmina Bar, specialist in roasted pork leg sandwich

15/08/2020 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria

The Yazmina Bar in Telde and its pata asada (roasted pork leg) sandwich with Canarian cheese has become a classic for all Gran Canaria locals. And even for other Canarians which visit Gran Canaria. That is why today we want to let you know one of the places that residents go when we want to eat a good sandwich. Without a doubt, the Yazmina Bar is or has been a “pit stop” once for us.

Yazmina Bar

The Yazmina Bar is specialized in roasted pork leg. So that, it is not a place where you will find other options to eat and, therefore, not recommended for vegetarians. Of course, you can eat a sandwich of cheese and a natural orange juice, but it’s like going to a burger to eat salad. Here, in addition to tasting its delicious sandwich, you can order a roasted pork leg to take away. In Gran Canaria, when you organize a family meal or a meal with friends, you can not miss the roasted leg with the papas con mojo.

As you can see in the previous photo, when you bring here a foreign friend or someone without Canarian accent, the waiters joke about writing “made in Canary”. Referring to the fact that the product is totally Canarian. The sandwich itself is quite large. If you are not very hungry, we recommend ordering an entire one to share between two. Otherwise, if you eat one on your own, you will not be hungry in the next 5 hours. Guaranteed! In the previous photo you can see half a sandwich on each plate.

The Yazmina Bar is like a sandwich making factory. In addition to their tasty sandwiches, they stand out for their speed in serving customers. The waiter who takes the command is different from the one who prepares the sandwich. In the same way, there is also a waiter who is responsible for serving the drink. And another that is in charge of get paid. Therefore, in less than five minutes you will have your sandwich ready.

Opening hours Bar Yazmina

To give you an idea of the success of the Yazmina Bar, they only open in the morning and on Sundays they are closed. From Monday to Friday they are open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Therefore, if you are thinking about coming here for a snack in the afternoon, it will not be possible. If you want to make an order to take away, contact them at the following phone: +34928698268.
