In this entry we are going to talk to you about Fuji restaurant, the first Japanese from Spain and, therefore, from Gran Canaria. Japanese cuisine is becoming more and more fashionable and today we want to bring you closer to one of the best Japanese restaurants in Las Palmas. Fuji Restaurant offers creative Japanese food and also features traditional Japanese dishes such as soups, sushis and sashimis.

Fuji Restaurant Las Palmas
For us, The best thing about the restaurant is the special sushi that is ordered by the piece and the red tuna carpaccio, as well as the butterfish carpaccio.. As we normally do, here are our recommendations:
Sushis per piece: flambéed shrimp, quail egg with truffle and foie
Of three sushi per piece We couldn't tell you which one we would choose, all three are spectacular. You will experience an explosion of flavors that you will not be able to describe as it happened to us.

Red tuna carpaccio
On the other hand, lately they also have as a suggestion of the day the red tuna carpaccio with avocado, truffle and seasonal fruit. We have tried it once with kiwi and another time with mango, both delicious. The layer of fruit and avocado is hidden under the tuna.

Salmon Tartar
You should also try the salmon tartar that they normally have off the menu. It is delicious, although the crackers that accompany it are of low quality.

Tendon: tempura, rice and sauce
Finally, there is a dish called tendon which consists of Vegetable and prawn tempura with rice and soy. They prepare it very well and when mixed with the sauce it is delicious. The best, without a doubt, is the breaded parsley. We love!

Regarding desserts, you must try the green tea ice cream and cheesecake mochi are spectacular and unique. Believe us.
Finally, we leave you with their menu in case you want to review variety and prices. If you order wine you will pay about 30-35 euros per person. You already know that Japanese restaurants are expensive, as is the fish.
Contact and reservations
Keep in mind that since the place is so small and the restaurant is so popular, you will have to Book at least a week in advance at the following telephone number: 928261393. The Fuji restaurant is located at Fernando Guanarteme Street, 56, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Very close to the Las Canteras Beach. They are open Tuesday to Saturday from 13:30 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. and from 20:30 p.m. to 23:00 p.m.. On Sundays they only open at noon and on Mondays they close.

History Fuji Restaurant
As they indicate in their menu, the Fuji restaurant:
was founded in April 1967 by Mr. Sato, being the first Japanese restaurant to open in all of Spain. In those days it served almost exclusively the sailors of the Japanese fleet who stopped in the port of La Luz, basically due to the local population's total ignorance of this type of oriental cuisine.
Thanks to Nordic tourism in Gran Canaria, aware of the benefits of Japanese gastronomy, the restaurant opened to a wider public, becoming a benchmark on the island.
If there was to be a drawback, it is that the restaurant has become somewhat old and there is no privacy at some tables because they are so close together, since the place is very small. Nevertheless, The quality of its raw materials and its fusion of flavors are worth it.
