04/09/2022 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria 1 Comment

If you are looking for restaurants in Fataga to eat delicious, the Albaricoque restaurant cannot be missing. Here you can try practically all the delicacies of the island at a good price. In addition, the cuisine is homemade and the service is very close and familiar. They have a beautiful terrace with views of the mountains and a quite pleasant interior dining room with plants. They are also pet-friendly. Next we are going to talk about what you can eat here, do not lose detail!

El Albaricoque restaurant in Fataga

The Albaricoque restaurant has a wide range of Canarian food and it is located in an idyllic location in Gran Canaria. We have tried here the home salad which comes with lots of fruit and vegetables. Some of them of Fataga.

We also tried the ribs (only on weekends) and the baby squid. For hot days, we stick with their beet gazpacho, which is usually off the menu. These three dishes are highly recommended.

We also love they varied croquettes, as they seemed original. They make them from local watercress, blood sausage, Spanish ham and fish. You can see between some of them the color difference. It comes with vegetables from the garden and natural fries.

We also tried the vegetable stew that includes watercress. Something quite Canarian and here they make it delicious. Also, when the winter weather arrives, it feels like eating it.

Apricot jam from Fataga

For dessert we have tried the pineapple mouse, the pumpkin pancakes with apricot jam from Fataga and the homemade cheesecake. All the desserts are homemade and delicious, although the pumpkin pancakes are a dish that you won’t find in many places and they are incredibly tasty.

We always stop here to eat when we are around Fataga. We even came here when we where doing the Way of St. James of Gran Canaria. Amazing place and food! You should know that the restaurant is called El Albaricoque (the apricot), because in many of its dishes include apricot jam from Fataga. This is the case of pumpkin pancakes, fried cheese and blood sausage, all comes with apricot jam. And how delicious it is! Unfortunately it is not for sale, but you can always try it here.
