If you are in the south of Gran Canaria and want to delight yourself with Canarian food, a classic is the El Capitan restaurant. It is on the beachfront of San Agustín Beach. That is the summer beach of the islanders. In the area the quality gastronomic offer is scarce and this site has a good quality – price ratio. In the following lines we will tell you what to ask for, where it is, how to book, etc.

El Capitán restaurant
The gastronomic offer of the El Capitan restaurant is quite wide and of good quality. In the menu you find the basics of Canarian cuisine, in addition to the Mediterranean diet. We recommend you try their delicious salads, an exquisite Russian salad (with mayonnaise), roasted octopus with mojo and even paellas.

They also have a fridge showing the fresh fish. In addition, in their menu there is no lack of good papas con mojo potatoes. Here they are served with Canarian cheese.

As you can see, their dishes are quite abundant and, although they don’t have a presentation of 10, their flavors do. We recommend you order several dishes like the ones we show you to share. The price per person is about € 20-25, depending on whether you order wine or not. If you order a fish of the day, the price per person goes up a lot.

Contact and reservations
The restaurant has a large terrace overlooking the sea and also indoor dining. They accept reservations and you better book in advance in the summer months. It also has a large parking by the beach, free for its customers. Which is perfect if you want to spend the day in San Agustín and not have to look for parking. The contact telephone number is +34928760225 and they are open from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Finally, you should know that you can order your food and / or paella to take away. You just have to return the paella pan later. They are very yummy too!
