If you have come across this article, it is possibly because you are looking for a place to have a good vermouth in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This alcoholic drink is made from wine macerated in herbs and is usually taken as an aperitif. Despite not being an original or traditional drink from the Canary Islands, it is becoming more and more fashionable on the island. In any case, today we already have some home-made vermouth on the Islands, such as Primo Lanzarote. Below we list you our favorite places to drink vermouth in Las Palmas city. Let’s go!

Places to drink vermouth in Las Palmas
Dorotea, Triana
This gastronomic bar in Triana has been one of the last to join the list of where to have delicious vermouths in Las Palmas. In fact, they have already established among their clients the phrase “en Dorotea se vermutea”, that means “in Dorotea you can enjoy vermouth”. Every Saturday they offer a different dish off the menu. From their usual menu we recommend the black pork sandwich and the leeks.

Valentina LPA. First place to drink vermouth in Las Palmas
We can say that Valentina LPA was one of the first vermouth bars in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In fact, on their façade they call themselves “vermutería” or vermouth bar. It is a quite nice and pretty place a few steps from Las Canteras beach. To share with the aperitif vermouth they have the typical chips with anchovies, olives, Iberian ham, cans of cockles, etc.

Maripili Las Palmas, Plaza del Pilar-La Cicer
This place has become one of the coolest places to go for vermouth in Las Palmas, but also to eat. In addition, it is in the Plaza del Pilar, very popular for being a meeting point for a drink in the city. Both the interior of the restaurant, as well as its outdoor terrace, are very worthwhile. In their menu they have yummy street food to accompany the vermouth. We recommend the patacones, the fish and chips and the cheeseburger.

La Bikina, Las Canteras
Another of the classics to drink vermouth in Las Palmas is La Bikina Cantina in the middle of Las Canteras promenade. Here you can accompany the vermouth with a gastronomic offer of international dishes to share such as tacos, samosas, Hawaiian pokés, etc. It’s pretty cheap and the atmosphere is great. With sea views!

El Trastero tasca urbana, Plaza de España
On the other hand, you have the option of savoring a delicious vermouth in the Plaza de España, known locally as the Plaza de la Victoria (where the locals usually celebrate the victories of the Las Palmas soccer team). Here we have the El Trastero bar with more than 70 different vermouth references to try.

Manuela Jimena, vermouth in Las Palmas old town
Manuela Jimena bar is located in the heart of Vegueta. This place imitates the typical Spanish bar in which seafood, salad, croquettes and calamari sandwich, among others, cannot be missing from its offer. Beware, it is not cheap. For dessert they even have the typical churros with chocolate. In addition, they have an extensive menu with different types of vermouth, which is what we have come to talk to you about.

It shows that we like vermouth… right? As much as to spend a little time to share with you our favorite places to enjoy this drink in the capital of Gran Canaria. Have you been to all of them? Which do you recommend us?
