Triciclo restaurant, eating yummy in Las Palmas de G.C.

08/04/2019 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria Leave a Comment

The Triciclo restaurant, has been a huge discovery for us. Eating yummy at good price is being complicated in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and they have made it possible. In their menu they offer creative cuisine. They mix in some of their dishes food that you have never tasted together. Moreover, the service is VERY good and quick. They are located at Vegueta, the old town. It is not a restaurant which has been there the whole life, but its incorporation to the city gastronomic offer has been well received for each one of the people who have tried it and talked about it.

As you may see in the Triciclo restaurant menu, they offer almost all type of food: appetizers to share, salads, rices, fish and meat. As they mention, all meats are local. They also offer some Canarian dishes as the “Polvito”, which is a dessert. Or the “papas carbonizadas”, which are boiled potatoes. Very similar to the Canarian “papas arrugadas”. Anyway, to eat here we recommend you to order some dishes to share. So that you can try more things and it’s worth it.

As always, here you are our suggestions.

We recommend you the crayfish croquettes with pear ali oli. If you order the big size dish you will also get a crayfish over the croquettes as shown below. Pure flavor!

In the same way, you should order the potato salad with mayonnaise and grilled octopus (ensaladilla rusa). In this place they truly prepare it delicious. Don’t forget to order some bread with it!

We also recommend you the beach calamari with cabbage risotto. It comes with some arugula and Parmesan cheese. We have never tried this food together before and, to be honest, it has been a great success. Do not miss it!

If you feel like eating some meat, the beef tenderloin with crunchy home made potatoes is quite tasty. It comes in a hot dish in order that it doesn’t get cold quickly.

Let’s continue with the desserts. Actually, we have only tried the almond blossom with yoghurt ice-cream and red fruits soup. One of the best desserts we have ever tried. Order it!

Bookings at Triciclo Restaurant

If you want to have lunch or dinner at Triciclo restaurant you’d better book in advance calling the +34928119098. It is getting trendy and well known and sometimes is difficult to get a table. It is possible to book in the terrace or inside. As the terrace is in a pedestrian street, we recommend it if you are going with kids or dogs.

In the same way, it is a place which we recommend for groups. Why? Because they have a second floor where you can have like a reserved area just for you and your family or friends. Also because most of their dishes are made to be shared. Therefore, you will eat a lot of yummy things and, the best of all, without paying a huge bill. The price per person could be between 18-20€ or 25€ with wine.

Opening hours and location

They are open every day from Monday to Saturday from 12.30 to 4.00 pm and from 8.00 pm to 12.00 pm. On Sundays they only open from 12.30 to 4.00 pm. On the other hand, remember that they are located at Pelota Street in the neighborhood Vegueta. Without a doubt the Triciclo restaurant is a success if you are visiting the old town from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is finger-licking!
