TransGranCanaria Bike route 2019: itinerary
In the 2019 edition the tour began in the village of Artenara. Going down to the Guardaya circular. With a strong rise that leaves us again in Artenara. From this point, we went up the road of the Cuevas de Caballero until stepping on the road above them. From this point, we have a large road to ride, passing by Cruz de Tejeda with our bicycles (good point to buy some candy, fruit or water). And until you reach practically the El Garañón camp, where the first stage ends and the second begins (the next day).
Second part of the TransGranCanaria bike route 2019
The second day of the race begins by going down the 9km road from El Garañón. After passing Ayacata village we enter a dirt track that leaves us above the Chira dam. From that point we went to Tunte by road, leaving by a dirt track towards La Manzanilla. From there we will go down to the same town of Tunte. We continue riding to El Gallego (wide dirt road, long and hard for its stones). Already in Aldea Blanca village we start to ride direction Bahía Feliz. Where we will turn inwards again to make a circular loop that ends at the Gloria Palace hotel. Once here, we only have one more loop to the interior, which we will finish by crossing the ravine that reaches Maspalomas. Finishing the tour in Expomeloneras, the Congress Center of Meloneras.
A 120km-route of dirt and asphalt
The trail is fun, with a variety of landscapes. A recommended adventure that you can do with an MTB or with a Gravel Bike to enjoy the island of Gran Canaria. The Trans Gran Canaria Bike route has a good mix between wide and easy dirt roads with stretches of road. Ideal for technical level of initiation.
