Crossing Tenerife on a trail motorcycle is, without a doubt, one of the best land routes you can do on a motorcycle in the Canary Islands. It is incredible the number of kilometers of wide Off-road tracks that we can find on the island of El Teide. Below we describe the route so you can get an idea of what you are going to find.
Tenerife on Moto Trail
With the track that you will find at the end of this post, you will be able cross practically the entire island on dirt tracks. One of the best options, if you have time, is to go From East to West. In our case we took advantage of the fact that we had to catch a boat in The Christians, direction to the island of El Hierro to enjoy these wide roads with spectacular views.
Do you need a permit to travel on land with a trail motorcycle in Tenerife?
Yes. To ride a trail motorcycle on dirt roads or tracks (Off-Road), it is necessary to request a permission on the page Cabildo of Tenerife. We recommend doing it in advance, because they have a maximum daily quota, so you must reserve the day or days that you plan to spend on land with your motorcycle.
How long does the Trail motorcycle route through Tenerife last?
It is important to note that the track begins in the PCAN gas station in La Esperanza, a prominent point where many bikers from the island meet to have breakfast and refuel their motorcycles. We recommend that you use the Google maps to get there and activate the track at that point. The track ends in Los Cristianos, where you take the boat to go to the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma, south of Tenerife.

Hi, this summer I'm going to spend my vacation here and I would like to make some of these tracks, but I have a couple of doubts:
– Do you know any company that rents trail motorcycles and offroad equipment? I tried an enduro once and I didn't like it very much because I'm used to trail riding.
– In summer time, are there usually restrictions on these tracks that you have published? either due to fire risk or closed slopes at this time of year
– Are there any difficulties worth mentioning in these tracks? I just don't think I can get a small group to do the track accompanied and maybe I'll have to go alone.
A greeting.

Hello Jordi, good morning,
The truth is that we do not know of companies that rent trail motorcycles and off-road equipment…
During fire alerts there may be traffic restrictions on the roads, yes.
We recorded the track a couple of years ago, the path may have changed due to erosion and traffic, so we cannot "get wet" in affirming that it may have a difficulty worth mentioning... Especially considering that what for some It may be a difficulty, for others it is not... I don't know if you understand me.
We are sorry that we cannot help resolve your questions more clearly.
Greetings,
