In this article we want to share with you what for us are the best tapas restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Despite the distance between the Canary Islands and mainland Spain, in the Islands you will also be able to taste the traditional tapas of Spanish gastronomy.

As you may know, the largest offer of restaurants on the island is concentrated in the capital. And, at the same time, we understand that your visit to Gran Canaria cannot miss a stop in the city. Therefore, we wanted to make a selection of the most delicious Spanish tapas in Las Palmas city. Let’s get it started!
Tapas Las Palmas
✔ Camino al Jamonal, Las Canteras beach
The first tapas restaurant that we want to highlight in the capital is Camino al Jamonal. They are known for their Iberian ham tapas, chickpeas, and avocado and tomato salad. And also for its varied homemade mini desserts. It is located at the end of the Las Canteras promenade, in the La Puntilla area.

✔ La travesía, Triana and Puerto
At La travesía we recommend ordering the huevos rotos (broken eggs), the Iberian secret and the Spanish potato salad. Sometimes the simplest is what you know the most. They have a restaurant in the Triana neighborhood and another in the port area. The two sites are quite small, but cozy.

✔ Bodega Extremeña, Las Canteras
The Extremaduran winery is one of the most typical and well-known tapas restaurants in Las Palmas. As their name suggests, they are specialized in Extremadura gastronomy. They have a very good Iberian ham, you can also try the traditional Torta del Casar, their Spanish sausage omelette, the oxtail, the cheeks…

Likewise, you cannot stop trying the foie and Iberian ham sandwich. Ah! And leave a bit of space to delight yourself with its Extremaduran polvito, a dessert for those sweet lovers. You can eat on their terrace or in the barrels with stools that they have inside. Be careful, this site works so well that it is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.
✔ Las Lagunetas, Triana
You could not miss a place for one of the most typical Canarian tapas restaurants. Here we recommend you try the roasted pork leg tapa, the assorted Canarian cheeses and the potatoes with mojo sauce. They also have the classic Spanish tapas like padrón peppers, broken eggs, etc. It has a double terrace, one on Calle Constantino and the other on Calle Lagunetas. Likewise, if you prefer, inside you can also eat quietly.

✔ La Bulla, Port-Canteras area
If you are looking for where to eat good cheeks, fried anchovies and coquinas (small clams), La Bulla awaits you. We can say that many of their dishes are mainly Andalusian tapas. We love the service and quality of their dishes. They have a nice terrace on the pedestrian street Dr. Miguel Rosas, but if you prefer, you can also eat inside.

✔ Triciclo, Vegueta
We have already mentioned this restaurant several times and we love it. The octopus and potato salad will make you close your eyes and say, mmmm! They also have the traditional shrimp pancakes from Cádiz, crayfish croquettes, etc… They are located on La Pelota street, in the heart of the old town of Vegueta. You can choose to eat inside or on the terrace, since the street is pedestrian.

✔ Dorotea, tapas in Las Palmas, Triana
Another super tasty restaurant in Las Palmas is Dorotea. We highlight their low-temperature cooked pork sandwich with parmesan cheese and egg bread, the leeks, the salad with mussels and fried egg, the croquettes, etc. What’s more, here you can pair your tapas with good vermouth, as “at Dorotea se Vermutea”.

✔ Manuela Jimena, Vegueta
It is a restaurant that imitates the classic Madrid bars with Spanish omelette, calamari sandwiches, Spanish potato salad, croquettes, broken eggs, seafood, gourmet tapas, etc. We recommend you try the truffle omelette and the Spanish potato salad. By the way, the desserts are delicious and they also have the traditional churros with chocolate. It may be the most expensive of all those we mentioned, but now you have more options to choose.
