Restaurants to eat seafood in Gran Canaria

Below we list our favorite seafood restaurants on the island. Let’s go!

1. Cofradía de Pescadores de Taliarte, Telde

Without a doubt the Cofradía de Pescadores de Taliarte in Telde is our favorite on the island to eat fish. Especially the fried fish, since they have confessed to us that the batter is made with chickpea flour and a touch of salt. You have to try the local fish named vieja. They also have yummy mussels!

2. La Marisma, Moya

On the coast of Moya, in the first line we have the restaurant La Marisma. This restaurant always has very good raw materials: fish, seafood and meat from Gran Canaria. As soon as you arrive at the restaurant, you will see the display of fresh fish and seafood. We recommend you the fried rooster or the grilled cherne. A few steps away you have the natural pool of El Altillo to get tan and swim after or before lunch.

3. El Padrino, Las Palmas de GC

El Padrino is one of the best fish restaurants in Las Palmas de GC. It is a lifelong place where in addition to eating good fish, they have traditional Canarian dishes such as potatoes with mojo sauce and gofio. The funny thing about this place is that they give you a plant every time you visit them to eat.

4. La Marinera, Las Palmas de GC

La Marinera is also another classic in the offer of fish restaurants in Gran Canaria. This above is located on the beach of Las Canteras. Here you can try the classic grilled or baked cherne (sea bass). A fish closely linked to Canarian cuisine that is to die for.

5. El Rincón Canario, San Bartolomé de Tirajana

We have already spoken to you many times about El Rincón Canario, both in the article about restaurants with sea views, and in that about restaurants with a terrace. It is located on the first line of Playa del Águila and is a mandatory stop on your visit to Gran Canaria. At least it is a place that we would take those who came to visit us on the island. Here you cannot miss the fried vieja (parrot fish), one of the most typical fish in the Canary Islands.

6. Liágora Canaria, San Bartolomé de Tirajana

In the fishing village Castillo del Romeral this great restaurant specialized in fish, seafood and rices is hidden. We love how they prepare the fried vieja with the gofio as side dish. They also have a yummy tuna carpaccio. Liágora Canarias restaurant is not a well-known place, but whoever tries it, repeats.

7. El Pote, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

El Pote is a restaurant that has been working in the capital of Gran Canaria for quite some time. Although this one is not 100% specialized in fish like all the previous ones, it has some spectacular fish dishes. This is the case of the smoked grouper that we show you in the following image.

8. Angor, Agaete

Angor is located on the beachfront of Puerto de Las Nieves, in Agaete. Here we recommend the fried moray eel and the grilled redbanded seabream. It is a VERY well-known place among the locals, so if you plan to go on a weekend, we recommend you be there at 1:00 p.m., since they do not accept reservations.
