RockTop Skybar, an incredible restaurant in Agaete

18/08/2020 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria

Among the restaurants in Agaete, the RockTop Skybar restaurant stands out without doubt. It is an à la carte restaurant, located on the top floor of the Roca Negra Hotel, a few steps from Puerto de Las Nieves. In addition, its dining room is inside a glass window, so that during lunch you will have views of the sea and the cliffs of Agaete. And, hopefully, also to Tenerife. In the following lines we will tell you a little more about this special place.

The hotel belongs to a new hotel company, so the restaurant might have changed

RockTop Skybar restaurant, Agaete

The RockTop Skybar restaurant has made a qualitative proposal in its menu which differentiates from the traditional dining options offered by the fishing village of Agaete. And it is that his Chef, Aridani Alonso, has introduced very high quality products on the menu. Both from different parts of Spain, as from the Canary Islands and even from the same municipality of Agaete. Within its elaborated menu, they have typical dishes such as the octopus ropa vieja, salmorejo rabbit croquettes with almond mojo sauce, beef tenderloin with Agaete coffee sauce, wines from El Valle and Tejeda, crème brulée of gofio… mmmm yummy. In addition, as you can see in the following images, the presentation of their dishes is great. Although of course, the best is its flavor!

At the same time, the interesting thing about their menu is the fusion of the products brought from abroad, with our local products. This is the case of scallops with green avocado mojo from the Agaete Valley and mashed sweet potatoes. A spectacular dish.

The desserts

We can not avoid to mention their desserts. The ones we had the chance to try were delicious, especially the crème brulée of gofio surprised us. It was the first time we tried it and it has been a great proposal of the chef. We also really liked the creamy chocolate with coconut ice cream and the Suspiro de verano, with red fruits and white chocolate and curry soup.

RockTop Skybar menu and prices

In general, all the dishes we tasted were delicious and we have to go back to try that tempura of vegetables with cream cheese from Guía, red tuna tartare with avocado from El Valle, the black pork burger (Canarian species)…. We can say that the price is around € 25 -30 € per person.

Contacto and opening hours

As we mentioned at the beginning, the restaurant is located at the Cordial Roca Negra Hotel & Spa, on Alfredo Kraus Avenue, 42. Even if you are not staying here, you can call to book your table, something we recommend since they only open for lunch. Moreover, the restaurant is very small. Their phone number is +34928898009 and opens every day from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You should know that they also open the bar from 12:00 to 23:00 to have a drink. If you do not visit them for lunch, do not miss the magical sunset from their RockTop terrace. Finally, we want to congratulate the chef, Aridane Alonso and his team. We wish them much success. We will be back!
