19/03/2023 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria Leave a Comment

The restaurants in Meloneras are some of the most expensive in Gran Canaria as they are located on the island’s golden mile. That is, where the highest concentration of 5-star hotels is located. For this reason, we want to share with you this article in which we mention several options so that you can choose based on your budget and tastes. Come on let’s go!

Restaurants Meloneras

As we explained you, the Meloneras area is one of the most expensive and touristy on the island. With which, there are more touristy restaurants than others. Next, we mention five restaurants in Meloneras that the locals frequent so that you can take them into account if you are going to visit this area of Gran Canaria. The sites that we are going to recommend are along the Meloneras sea promenade. That is, from Maspalomas beach to Meloneras beach.

✔ Casa Serafín €€. Restaurants in Meloneras of local food

Casa Serafín is one of the best restaurants in Meloneras of Canarian food. Here you can try some local dishes such as papas con mojo or gofio escaldao, although they have everything. Fish, rice, meat, pasta, etc. It has been open in Meloneras since 1958. Before, they had a beach bar on the sand. Everything changed when the Meloneras shopping center was built where they are now. What a pity!

✔ El Churrasco steakhouse Meloneras €€€

Another of the Meloneras restaurants to consider is El Churrasco inside the Lopesan Costa Meloneras hotel. They are specialized in quality grilled meats. This restaurant is not cheap, but its location on the promenade with views of the sea and the sunset is one of the most privileged. The Churrasco Meloneras also has direct access from the street, even though it is inside the hotel. This grill is well known on the island, in fact they have another restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

✔ Brewery Cervecería La Ruta €

If your budget to eat in Meloneras is small, we recommend you consider the option of the brewery Cervecería La Ruta. Its cuisine is more of a fast food type with hamburgers, nachos, samosas, papas bravas, etc. although they also have some salads and meats. In any case, if you order a hamburger and a drink you can eat for €15 with views of Meloneras beach. On Sunday afternoons they usually have a very good atmosphere and even live music.

✔ El Caldero Restaurant Meloneras €€

Another well-known restaurant in Meloneras is El Caldero. Caldero is the term we use to refer to pots in the Canary Islands. That is, a large metal container that is used to heat or cook something inside it. This place was previously in Puerto de Mogán and, recently, it has moved to the golden mile of Gran Canaria. They are specialized in rice, fideuás and seafood.

✔ Palocortado Gran Canaria €€€, expensive restaurants Meloneras

This restaurant has changed ownership, so we don’t know how it works at the moment. In any case, it is located in the Hotel Faro Collection, in a privileged location just a few steps from the beach and the Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse.

There are also other places to eat in Meloneras that have recently opened, such as the restaurant Kabuki Gran Canaria, the Nihao and the Ceniza Restaurant, but we have not yet had the pleasure of trying them. In any case, this area of the island is very touristic and, if you don’t mind moving 5-20 minutes by car, you have better options in our post about restaurants in the south of Gran Canaria.

In fact, we don’t even mention them in our Gran Canaria guides that you can see below. In any case, we always like to give an answer to any traveler who asks us about restaurants in Meloneras.
