Restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Canteras – Port area
1. Restaurant La Marinera, Las Canteras €€€
La Marinera could very well be one of the best restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for fish and Canarian food. If you want to try the local fish, we recommend the grilled white grouper (cherne) and the parrot fish (vieja). They also make a very good gofio escaldado, one of the most typical Canarian dishes. We personally love the house salad and the fried octopus. In addition to a covered dining room, there is also a terrace overlooking the sea and the entire beach of Las Canteras.
2. El Arrosar, rice restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria €€
This restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria specialises in Galician, Mediterranean and rice dishes. We love their black rice and rice with garlic and garlic. They also have Galician delicacies such as empanada, octopus, seafood, etc. on their menu. By the way, they also usually have coquinas al ajillo (clams with garlic) off the menu, a delicacy that they cook very well. The restaurant is owned by the same owners as Ribera del Río Miño, one of the best seafood restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. If you want to know more, we have a post about El Arrosar.
3. Fuji, the best Japanese restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria €€
One of our favourite places to eat Japanese cuisine in Las Palmas is the Fuji restaurant. It was the first Japanese restaurant in Spain. This Japanese restaurant presents its offer in a creative way and at the same time offers traditional Japanese dishes such as soups, sushi and sashimi. For us, the best thing about Fuji is the special sushi ordered by the piece and the bluefin tuna carpaccio. It is very popular, so book in advance. We leave you our article with more Japanese restaurants in Las Palmas for more information.
4. Nákar, restaurant serving Basque-Navarrese cuisine €€€
This restaurant specialises in Basque-Navarrese cuisine in one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the capital: Guanarteme. The place is spectacular, the service attentive and the dishes full of flavour. What more could you ask for? Its chef is a young Navarrese trained at the Basque Culinary Center and, after his experience as head chef at the Summum restaurant, he decided to open his own restaurant in 2021. The price per person is around €40, so if you can afford it, it is highly recommended. If you are looking for a special and different place to dine in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, take a look at this one.
5. Bululú Canarias, one of our favourite restaurants in Las Palmas €€
Bululú Canarias has built up a loyal clientele thanks to its fusion of flavours, good vibes and reasonable prices. Its owners are Venezuelan, so here you can try their delicious arepas and patacones. In any case, their menu will surprise you, as they have a spectacular homemade foie. We also love their watercress hummus and the famous aubergine tower shown below. They used to have several restaurants in Las Palmas, but in the end they have stayed with the Bululú on Calle Venezuela, next to Olof Palme.
6. La Travesía €€
Another of our favourite restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to go with friends for a bite to eat is La Travesía, they have two restaurants in the capital. One is in the Triana area, in callejón de Lagunetas, and the other in the port area. We recommend the huevos rotos (scrambled eggs) and the ensaladilla (potato salad), although the truth is that everything is delicious and at a very good price. We also share with you another blog article with more tapas restaurants in Las Palmas.
7. Trattoria Pizzeria Calabrè, de los mejores restaurantes en Las Palmas italianos €€
If you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, you have to visit this Trattoria Calabrè. We loved their parmigiana, their pizza infinito and their tiramisu. We have yet to try their authentic Italian carbonara (without cream). As a curiosity, on their menu they offer pizza with pineapple and carbonara with cream for 100€, since as good Italians, they consider this type of mixture that we have adopted in Spain to be an offence. If you are looking for Italian restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, we have a complete post with our favourites in the capital and other areas of the island.

8. Las Lagunetas, restaurants in Las Palmas of local food, Triana €€
It is one of the few places with good local cuisine in the Triana neighbourhood. The service is very friendly and familiar. Bodegón Las Lagunetas has a double terrace and the interior is quite spacious, so you don’t need to book, nor do they accept reservations… If you don’t know what to order here, ask the waiter. Last time we had the chance to try the “cherne encebollado con pella de gofio, papas y batata”, which is not on the menu. However, from their menu we recommend the roast leg of pork and the potatoes with mojo.
9. Triciclo, restaurants in Vegueta Las Palmas de Gran Canaria €€€
Restaurant Triciclo is one of our favourite restaurants in Vegueta. Our favourite dishes are the octopus and potato salad and the pumpkin risotto with squid. The service is very good, although the prices have gone up a lot lately. They accept reservations inside and also on the terrace, where it is very pleasant to eat as it is in a pedestrian street in the old part of the city.
10. Qué Leche, Triana €€€
Qué Leche is undoubtedly one of the best on the island. In fact, we have already recommended it in our post about restaurants in Gran Canaria It offers good service, but with a familiar touch. Each of its dishes is an explosion of flavors. Normally, you must book in advance, especially on weekends, since it is becoming famous and is tiny. We recommend the eggs with sweet potato, shrimp and truffle mayonnaise and the boneless suckling pig with sweet potato puree, although everything is delicious. You can find more info in our article about the restaurant Qué leche.
11. Deliciosa Marta, one of the best restaurants in Las Palmas, Triana €€€€
The Deliciosa Marta is also one of the best places to eat in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and on the island. It has a delicious gastronomic offer and first class service. Here you have to book at least 3 months in advance. We love their steak tartar, Russian salad, truffled gnocchi and suckling pig. We recommend you to go with several people so you can try all the dishes we mentioned, a spectacular experience!
12. Mr. Kale, comida saludable en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria €€
Finally, if you are not looking for a special place and you just want to eat healthy and tasty food (also with vegan options), we recommend Mr. Kale.
