Places to eat in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Places to eat in Las Palmas local food
1. Restaurant La Marinera, Las Canteras €€€
La Marinera specializes in Canarian fish and food. You can see the fresh fish of the day exposed in their fridge. If you want to try the local fish, we recommend the grilled cherne and the vieja fried. You should also dare with the gofio, made with the fish stew. We personally love the house salad and the fried octopus. They have an indoor dining room and also terrace overlooking the sea and the entire beach of Las Canteras.
2. Las Lagunetas restaurant, Triana €€
It can be said that it is one of the few places with good local cuisine in the neighborhood of Triana. In addition, the staff is very nice and familiar. Las Lagunetas has a double terrace and the interior is quite spacious, so it is not necessary to book, nor accept reservations … If you do not know what to order here, ask the waiter. We last had the opportunity to try the cherne fish with onion with gofio pella, potatoes and sweet potato out of the menu. Anyway, from their menu we recommend the roast pork leg and the papas con mojo or potatoes with mojo sauce.

3. El Arrosar, Las Canteras €€€
It is difficult to find a place to eat a nice rice or paella in Las Palmas de GC. Without a doubt El Arrosar is our favorite in the island. They have 16 varieties of rice, all very similar to those of the Valencian coast. In addition, it is the typical restaurant that has practically all the good of Spanish cuisine. That is to say, a good Iberian ham, good fish and seafood, good meats, good rice, great wine cellar and good desserts. We love the black rice, the coquinas (small shells), the grilled squid … We recommend you to book, although if you go during the week, it is not necessary.
4. Bodega Extremeña, Las Canteras €
This is one of our favorites to go for tapas. It offers regional products from Extremadura, such as Guijuelo and Jabugo ham. It has a small terrace and inside the tables are tall with stools. We recommend the montadito of ham and foie, the seasoned tomatoes, the cheeks in sauce, the oxtail, the “polvito” from Extremadura … Everything is delicious and very good quality-price. Also, the service is very good. Be careful, they do not open on Saturday nights, or on Sundays. Finally, if you want to eat at the Bodega Extremeña, you should go soon or try to book in advance.
5. Triciclo, Vegueta €€
Triciclo restaurant is one of the few places where you will eat VERY well and at a great price. Also, the service is good and fast. It is located in Vegueta and has a nice outdoor terrace. It is not a restaurant with years of experience, but its incorporation into the offer of the city has been welcomed by each of the people who have tried and talked about it. We recommend the octopus and potato salad: ensaladilla de pulpo. They accept reservations inside and also on the terrace.
6. Qué Leche, Triana €€€
Qué Leche is undoubtedly one of the best in Gran Canaria. It offers good service, but with a familiar touch. Each of its dishes is an explosion of flavors. Normally, you must book in advance, especially on weekends, since it is becoming famous and is tiny. We recommend the eggs with sweet potato, shrimp and truffle mayonnaise and the boneless suckling pig with sweet potato puree, although everything is delicious.
7. Deliciosa Marta, Triana €€€€
Deliciosa Marta is also one of the best in Gran Canaria. It has a delicious gastronomic offer and top quality service. Here you have to book at least 3 months in advance. We love their steak tartar and the truffled gnocchi
8. 1478 restaurant, Vegueta €€€
It is located within the emblematic Suites 1478 hotel. The 1478 restaurant (before named Café Domo) is surrounded by pieces of art. They recently changed their menu and we had the chance to try a spectacular risotto with a delicious local cheese from Guía and wild pig. Good service and luxurious surroundings.

9. La Bikina, Las Canteras €
If your question is about places to eat in Las Palmas, but cheap, this is one of the best options. La Bikina has it all: different gastronomic offer, healthy and tasty, friendly service, terrace and good atmosphere. In addition, the best of all is that you do not pay much without losing the quality of the food, not to mention that it is on the front line of Las Canteras. Here you can eat perfectly for less than € 15. They do no not accept reservations.
10. Fuji, Guanarteme €€€
One of the best places to eat in Las Palmas Japanese cuisine is the Fuji restaurant. And it was the first Japanese restaurant in Spain. It offers creative Japanese food and also features the traditional dishes of this country such as soups, sushi and sashimi. For us, the best of the Fuji are the special sushis that are ordered per piece and the carpaccio of bluefin tuna. The site is tiny and much in demand, so remember to book in advance.
