MTB route from Firgas to Gáldar entre cortijos

15/04/2021 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria

On this bike route from Firgas to the coast of Gáldar between farmhouses we will be able to enjoy one of the best landscapes on the island of Gran Canaria. We recommend that you do it on an MTB or a Gravel Bike due to the characteristics of the terrain. Although it is true that we will go 35% of the time by road and there is a part at the end, in which we will have to carry the Gravel due to its technical difficulty. So we leave the perfect type of bike to take to your choice.

Bike route from Firgas to Gáldar between farmhouses

This route is not circular, since it leaves from Firgas and ends in Gáldar, passing through many towns and remote and quiet places such as Fontanales, Caideros and Sardina del Norte. However, it is true that you can circulate it by returning along the coastal road (normally very busy with cyclists) until you reach Firgas again. For this last part, you would not need the track, since even Google Maps can take you to Firgas on the road. With which, if we add the return along the coast so that the route is circular we must add at least 30km more to the total.

Route characteristics (one way)

There is a part of the route, when we are already descending towards Guía, which undoubtedly has one of the best views of the island of Gran Canaria. It is an area very little frequented by its remoteness, but it is worth visiting. As we told you before, to these 50 km and duration, it would be necessary to add the trip along the coast if you want to make it circular.
