In this post we are going to tell you about a route to do on an enduro bike in the area of Firgas, in the north of Gran Canaria. This is a fairly unknown circular route, as it doesn’t pass through any roads that have been used in local MTB competitions. Here are all the details so that you can do it on your own.

Enduro in Firgas – La Húmeda (the wet)
On the day we did this route it was pouring with rain. It was quite muddy and it took us a bit longer than usual. That is why we have decided to call it La Húmeda (the wet). In total it took us 2 hours and 35 minutes to cover the 22 km with 850 m of elevation gain. We recommend that you do it with an Enduro or All Mountain bike. Although depending on your level, you can even do it with an XC bike with care in some technical downhill areas. We can classify the route as a medium technical level. You have all the information below:
Distance | 22 km |
Total ascent/descent | 850 m |
Estimated duration | 2/3 hours |
Minimum drink | 1 l |
Minimum food | 500 kcal |
Provisioning en route | Yes |
Technical level | Medium |
Recommended bike | Enduro/All Mountain |
The route starts at the restaurant Los Chorros (Firgas) along a path and through a wooded area with quite sticky red earth. There is an area where you will probably have to “climb” a bit off the bike, helping your companions to get on the saddles. After a few metres of pedalling along a dirt track, we reach the first bends that lead us to the road that reminds us of the island of La Palma, which is already a foretaste of the fun we are going to have.

This trail is amazing. You will have a lot of fun on the bike. It is narrow and steep. It looks like a jungle. It is usually full of vegetation, but if you find it clean as it is the case, it is incredible. Dry or wet, you can go down it very well, because the soil drains quite well and the forestation prevents the rains from falling hard on the ground. During the track, there are parts where you can look out onto viewpoints overlooking the ravine. Although, as fun as the path is, by the time you realise it, you will be at the end of the ravine.
