Louis Vuitton has selected the Dunes of Maspalomas as the location for the launch of its next campaign. And it is not the first time that this impressive location in Gran Canaria has been linked with a luxury brand. Yves Saint Laurent already did it at the time. And without a doubt, as we see it, it is a great opportunity to associate the image of the island of Gran Canaria with the luxury sector. Saint Laurent organized a kind of catwalk or parade of his collections in the Dunes of Maspalomas simulating the Sahara desert.

Of course, the locals will agree as long as the preservation of the environment is taken care of and monitored. The Dunes of Maspalomas and the landscape that makes it up is one of the most representative icons or postcards of Gran Canaria. Therefore, it is just as important to be able to continue showing off this natural space, as it is to be able to take part in campaigns of this type. Gran Canaria needs to diversify its target audience, it is not sustainable to live off sun and beach tourism.

That is to say, until now Gran Canaria tourism promotion campaigns have been very general, focused on the masses. In this sense, although it is not a tourism promotion, we reaffirm that this is a clear opportunity to add in favor of the island and to reach those quality tourism niches that do so well to destinations.
