One of the 4 urban beaches what to visit in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Its the The Alcaravaneras. It stands out for its blonde sand and little boats in the sand. It is not usually a crowded beach, since both residents and tourists usually prefer the beach of Las Canteras. In any case, it is a very beautiful beach and with its own charms.
Las Alcaravaneras Beach
If we had to say something negative about this beach, it is that it is not located in an open bay like other beaches in Gran Canaria. That is to say, It has the Port of Las Palmas right next door, so its waters are not so clean.
Residents here usually practice various sports such as canoeing, beach volleyball, soccer, open sea swimming... Therefore, every day young and old congregate here to enjoy their hobbies. Las Alcaravaneras makes the following services available to its visitors:
- Free toilets and showers. Opening hours from 10:30 to 18:15
- Surveillance and lifeguard. Every Saturday, Sunday and holidays from July to September from 11:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m.
- Park in the sand for children
- Play area for beach volleyball and soccer
- Kiosk where you can buy a snack or drink
On the beach of Las Alcaravaneras there is no sunbed and umbrella service. There is also no varied offer of restaurants like in other areas of Las Palmas. In any case, two steps away is the Sports Pier with a wide gastronomic offer and Ruiz de Alda Street with rich places such as Mr. Kale.

I don't like that the town's beach is being filled with minors for their summer camp since they don't respect that families are on that beach and they have to move from place to place because the munitors take up almost the entire beach for their event, they have stayed with all the beach that belongs to the town not to the game hahaha they say you can't play ball and they do it and other things that I saw yesterday I didn't like the whole beach for their summer events so we were doing well well

Hello! They will have to file a claim with the City Council, we can't do anything about it. All the best.

This beach is for sports use for beach volleyball and canoeing clubs. And bravo because the City Councils promote sports and not a sedentary lifestyle!!
Do you have the playa de Las Canteras and La Laja beach if athletes bother you.
What we have to complain about is the people who leave cigarette butts and trash in the sand.
