We hope you’re reading this with a full stomach, because this is going to be tough hehe. Let’s go!

Italian restaurants in Gran Canaria & Las Palmas city
Below, we list some of the best Italian restaurants in Gran Canaria and in Las Palmas capital city. Of course, if you want to make any recommendations, we’ll read them in the comments at the end of this article.
1. Pikza, Italian restaurants in Las Palmas
Pikza must be one of the Italian restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria that you must try once in your life, both for its pizzas with quality dough and for its fresh pasta. Their menu is not very extensive, something that we see as positive because their specialisation in each dish is brutal. We recommend the pizza with speck, mozzarella, jacket potato and gorgonzola. This restaurant also specialises in cocktails, so you can pair your pizza or pasta dish with their tasty proposals.

2. Jevule, Italian restaurant in Playa del Inglés
This Italian restaurant in Gran Canaria is in the south, in the area of Playa del Inglés. We loved their fresh pasta and melanzane alla parmigiana or aubergine parmigiana. They are inside the Los Tilos flats, opposite the CC El Yumbo. By the way, leave room for dessert, because their tiramisu is one of the best we have tasted on the island.

3. Trattoria Calabrè, the best Italian in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Trattoria Calabré in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a little piece of Italy in the middle of General Vives street. It is renowned for its authentic pizzas made in a Neapolitan wood-fired oven with Caputo flour, San Marzano tomato and fresh mozzarella. The one we show you below is the infinito, with two flavours. But it’s not all about pizza; you’ll fall in love with their fresh pasta. Just a fun tip: avoid ordering pizza with pineapple or carbonara with cream, unless you’re willing to pay €100. If you’re looking for a taste of Italy in Gran Canaria, this is the place for you!

4. La VicarÃa, Italian restaurant in Gran Canaria (Ingenio)
Another Italian restaurant in Gran Canaria to consider is La VicarÃa in the old town of Ingenio. The place is super romantic and they have both fresh pasta and the famous Roman pinsa. And what is the Roman pinsa? Unlike pizzas and focaccias, its dough is oval and is made with natural flours (soy, rice, wheat). It is also fermented for 72 hours. This restaurant, as well as being delicious, is so cosy and we recommend it for special occasions.

5. La dolce vita, Italian restaurants in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Vegueta)
La Dolce Vita is a small Italian restaurant in Vegueta. This family-run Sicilian restaurant is for many the best Italian restaurant in Las Palmas. They specialise in fresh pasta and other Italian delicacies (no pizzas). We recommend the Vitello tonnato, the tagliatelle with tartufo and for dessert the mille-feuille. It’s very tasty, although we think the prices are a bit high.

6. La Cantina, Valsequillo
Another place to eat good Italian food in Gran Canaria is in Valsequillo. They have pasta, pizza and other dishes that have nothing to do with Italian food. They always have dishes off the menu, such as these ravioli stuffed with pumpkin and cheese. Their lasagnas are delicious, both vegetable and meat lasagnas. The desserts are also homemade and our favourite is the dark chocolate mousse. In this video we tell you more about this Italian restaurant in Valsequillo.

7. Rustico Pizza e Vino, Italian restaurant in Maspalomas (San Fernando)
The rustic pizzeria is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Gran Canaria because of the quality and variety they offer in the dough of their pizzas. Here you can choose from a variety of dough options, including for coeliacs. We highlight the five-grain dough, the traditional dough, the whole wheat flour dough, the soy flour dough with long yeast and the black dough with activated charcoal for easy digestion. Here we recommend the Rustico pizza (mozzarella, dried tomato, rocket and pesto), the Boscaiola (with parmesan, rocket, speck and boletus) and the pear, walnut and gorgonzola pizza.

8. Il Vespino Vecchio, Italian restaurant in San Agustin
Another Italian restaurant in Gran Canaria with a good reputation and recommended by our Instagram community is Il Vespino Vecchio. On their menu you’ll find practically all the traditional Italian dishes such as carpaccios, risottos, fresh pasta, pizza and even meat and fish dishes. If you fancy panacotta or tiramisu, leave room for dessert! The place is super cosy with a terrace and an indoor dining room with table linen. By the way, pets are allowed on the terrace and it is only a few steps away from the beach of San Agustin.

9. Piemonte, Italian restaurant in Las Canteras beach
Finally, if you’re looking for Italian restaurants in Las Canteras beach, we like Piemonte because it overlooks the sea and the food is good. For pizza, we recommend the one with sun-dried tomato, rocket and parmesan, although I think we ordered this one off the menu. If you want pasta, you have to try the pear saccottini with cheese and black truffle cream.

10. Pomodoro e Mozzarella, pizza in Playa del Inglés
This pizzeria in Maspalomas received in 2022 the award for the best pizzeria in the Canary Islands during the Campeonato de Canarias Absoluto de Pizza – Gran Premio Grupo COMIT. The winning pizza was the one with anchovies, yellow tomato sauce, mozzarella, black olives and stracciatella cheese. Their pizzas can be white or tomato and you can order thousands of topping combinations. We haven’t been there yet, but we think it deserves a mention, both for everyone’s recommendations and for this award.
