Hiking with kids in Gran Canaria (Los Cernícalos ravine)

Hiking with kids in Gran Canaria

1. Los Cernícalos ravine, Telde/Valsequillo

Hiking with children through the Los Cernícalos ravine nearby Telde and Valsequillo is an excellent option. The hike is one of the most beautiful in Gran Canaria, since it is green and carries water all year round. At the same time, it is quite simple to do as the 90% of the path goes through flat trails. Anyway, you should be careful with the children, since there are certain more dangerous areas of passage, especially if you want to reach the largest waterfall. Therefore, if you go with very young children, you may have to consider the return before the end.

Also, the trail is in good condition most of the year. Also, keep in mind that, even if it is only 3 km round trip, the outward journey is all uphill.

This hiking route in Gran Canaria has just been rehabilitated by the Teror City Council. It is a practically flat path except for the passage through two fairly large wooden stairs, one of which is 4 meters long. Even so, it is a route that we recommend for families given its short distance. Of course, you have to be careful when you climb these stairs.
