In this post we share with you a Gravel bike route that passes through the municipalities of Firgas and Tejeda. The route starts once more from Los Chorros, Firgas. This time going up through wide gravel roads and asphalt roads. At the end of the wide track road with little difficulty (only a small straight line of stuck stones a little complicated), we will jump the fence of the farm and we will go to the viewpoint of Pinos de Gáldar by road. At this point we take the crossroad to Cruz de Tejeda with stunning views of the neighboring island, Tenerife. We will tell you everything below!

Shortly after this point, we will exit on the right by a dirt track that leads to Cuevas de Caballero. Although shortly after, we will take the left direction at the next junction. Do not worry, you can download the track of the route at the end of this post. We will continue along some paths with unbeatable views until we reach Cruz de Tejeda.
Recover at Cruz de Tejeda
After the rigorous stop in one of the food stalls of Cruz de Tejeda, we started the descent back to complete this circular route. Although there are still surprises. A road that leads to the Ariñez crossing. Then will continue our downhill which leaves us very close to where we started the route.

Then you can download the track of the route in .gpx format so that you can follow it on your own without getting lost. If you don’t know how to download it and follow it from your navigator or smartphone, we’ll explain it to you here. If you want to support us so that we continue to create content for you about Gran Canaria, we will appreciate if you purchase one of our tracks, either to enjoy incredible routes or as a donation.

Hi. Is it possible to do this route? Or is the route blocked by the Heredad de agua de Arucas y Firgas? Thanks
Hi Richard! It is possible to do the route, but actually it is forbidden as it is a private way. However, the last 4 times that we were around there there was no problem and we could go through. There were more people around too. It is a pity to have this kind of prohibitions, as it is an amazing part of the island! So, as we say in the post, access is prohibited (although you can get in) and we can’t confirm you 100% that you will be able to go through. However, we think it’s worth a try! Good luck!
Hi Jorge
Is there GPX files for our Garmin that we could buy before we get to Gran Canaria for our cycling gravel holiday?
Sarah Binns
Hi Sarah! We have already updated it in a GPX file! Now you can download it and enjoy the ride! Best regards and do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions. Ruth & Jorge
