Artenara para titanes (for titans)

03/01/2022 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria

In this article we will talk about a circular route from Firgas to Artenara by Enduro or All Mountain bike. It can also be completed with electric enduro bikes that have a capacity of at least 45km of autonomy.

Information about the circular route

  • 1,900m of accumulated positive slope
  • 43km
  • 4:30 hours on the move
  • Technical level: medium/high
Recommended bike: Enduro or All Mountain with at least 120mm suspension.

The circular begins in Firgas, at the Los Chorros junction. We start with some trails that end in a descent. Finally, it continues going up through dirt roads until practically reaching the top of Cuevas de Caballero.

After going down a very long path, we will arrive at the town of Artenara, where it is essential to recharge water and food for the return trip. Here we will go up the general Artenara road by bike towards Pinos de Gáldar. Where we will go down its well-known gravel mountain. Then we will tie with the descent of Fontanales, which ends right in this town. Another suitable place to buy water.

From Fontanales we will go up a path until we find the path of the Curvas del acero (curves of steel). Which will leave us again near Firgas. Now we will only have to go down a dirt track to finish climbing an old descent that will take us back to the starting point of the route.
