Enduro of Agaete by MTB

08/03/2021 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria

In this post we are going to talk about an enduro route through Agaete, where we will travel most of its neighboring mountains. The track runs along some paths from old Enduro MTB bike competitions. Since you are in the area, do not miss the town of Agaete and Puerto de Las Nieves.

Enduro through Agaete: 6 parts

We will use the roads that leave the town until we reach dirt tracks that connect the exit of each of the sections. Most of these links are quite bearable, although it is true that there are three moments in which we most likely have to carry our bike.

The route begins in the same town. You have several parking lots and shops where you can buy water and food. We will pass near Agaete several times, in case you have to buy or adjust the bike.

We could consider that the route is divided into three zones. The one of section 1, under Tamadaba. The one of sections 2, 3 and 6, over the town of Agaete. And that of sections 4 and 5, which pass near El Juncal beach. We recommend that you do the route in that order (1, 2, 3, 6) and if you see that you have time (an hour approx.) and strength to do the rest (4 and 5), finish the entire route.

This area is very windy, especially in summer. We recommend that you look at the weather forecast before making it. The ideal would be to go without wind and with wet terrain (rain the previous days). Which would greatly improve the grip in the gravel areas that this route has.

You will then be able to download the track in .gpx format so that you can follow the route on your own. If you don’t know how to download it and follow it from your navigator or smartphone, we’ll explain it to you here. If you want to support us so that we continue to create content for you about Gran Canaria, we will appreciate if you purchase one of our tracks, either to enjoy incredible routes or as a donation.
