El Gallo Feliz restaurant (The Happy Rooster) is one of the oldest and mythical restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its speciality is the Scandinavian food and it is known for its traditional decoration, fondues and flambéing. We love from Gallo Feliz the meat fondue. We tell you everything below, don’t miss it!

El Gallo Feliz restaurant
Coming to El Gallo Feliz and not trying its Fondue Oriental makes no sense. It is a veal fondue that comes with 11 different sauces. Each diner has its skewers and cooks its beef steaks with the heat of the saucepan with water and vegetables. Also, as a side dish you can order rice, french fries or vegetables. Our favorite sauce is with dill and the beetroot sauce, mmmm. The best thing about this dish is that at the end, the remaining broth in the central saucepan is served in a bowl as a soup. Very delicious!

Another special dish of El Gallo Feliz is the herring. On this occasion we ordered the three types (3 different sauces). However, the best is undoubtedly the one with mustard sauce.

We also love their gratin French onion soup, although this last time we didn’t try it. The Crêpe a la reine is not bad if you want a yummy snack to share. It is completely grilled with cheese and contains chicken.

Regarding desserts, the most typical is the apple pie (similar to the strudel) that you can order with ice cream or cream. Yummy yummy.
Concerning the price, we last paid € 31 per person, since we ordered several entrees and wine. Still, it is worth it, since it is a different, entertaining and delicious meal. And in the beach of Las Canteras!
Contact and opening hours
As we said before, The Gallo Feliz is located on the Promenade of Las Canteras, at approximately Luis Morote street. If you plan to try it, we recommend you to book a table next to some of the windows that overlook the beach. It is a very cozy place. If the weather is good, they also have a nice terrace overlooking the sea, but the quality of the service is not the same, since they are metal tables and chairs. To book you must call +34928271731. In addition, they are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. We hope you like it and tell us how was your experience.
