Are you looking for dog boarding in Gran Canaria? Would you like to find the perfect place where your four-legged friend can have fun and be well looked after? What if we told you that we have compiled a list of the best places on the island? Read on and find out everything you need to know.

Dog boarding centres in Gran Canaria, how to choose?
First of all, we would like to tell you that this list has been created thanks to the recommendations of our Instagram community @welovegrancanaria. We have only been users of some of the dog daycares in Gran Canaria mentioned and it has been a long time. So make sure you read the reviews of each kennel or dog sitter before deciding where to leave your best friend. Moreover, if you are not required to meet the following requirements, worry, because if you are not required to meet them, other dogs may not be either and your pet may be at risk:
- Vaccination booklet containing all vaccinations: rabies, parvovirosis, distemper, leptospirosis, hepatitis, kennel cough, etc. The latter is very common in kennels and can be avoided if you are asked for it.
- Deworming: This treatment is recommended and should be kept up to date to avoid transmission of parasites.
- Microchip: This small device helps to identify the dog in case of loss and is often requested by kennels.
- Dog behaviour: They may also require your dog to be sociable, which is essential to ensure everyone’s safety.
- Zoo core number: If it is a centre (not a keeper), we recommend confirming that the kennel has a zoo core number, to ensure health and animal welfare requirements (surface area of living and play areas).
- Styrenilised and/or not in heat. On the other hand, males are often required to be neutered (except for exceptions due to health or age) and/or females not in heat.

Remember that dog boarding centres in Gran Canaria may have their own conditions, so it is best to contact each one directly for more specific information.

In general, rates range from €11 per day to €30 per day for more personalised services at home or in the sitter’s home. When comparing prices, check to see if they include pick-up, boarding and if there are special rates for more nights or more than one dog. Although you already know that the best thing to do for your dog is not to change its usual diet (it can cause intolerances), as it requires a period of adaptation.
