About us
Local Guide Gran Canaria has the mission of making the most authentic side of Gran Canaria known to all its visitors and residents. We want to share with you the places that locals frequent, both to eat, as well as hidden corners to visit, give you advice on accommodation, activities, answer your questions, etc. We want to share the wonders of Gran Canaria with the world and help you make your stay on the island unforgettable. Will you join this trip?

Hello localguiders!
We are Ruth and Jorge, a young couple from Gran Canaria and… we love to travel! Also, when we do, we plan everything to the millimeter to visit the most authentic sites and get as close as possible to the local culture. We decided to start this exciting project to tell crazy travelers (like us) everything we think they should know about our land, Gran Canaria. We also share all our adventures around the world on this blog to save time for the traveler who is planning to visit a place in the world where we have already been.
In case you want to see our faces and get to know us a little more
Then we leave you with our presentation video in which Silver and Plata, our doggy-children, also appear. We are also waiting for you on our YouTube channel with lots of video content about Gran Canaria and our adventures in other destinations around the world.
Although to travel and plan trips it is not necessary to have highly qualified training, we do believe that each one contributes a key part to Local Guide Gran Canaria. That is, Ruth (me) with a degree in Tourism Management, a passion for traveling (as a child I wanted to be a stewardess), with knowledge of languages and, finally, with a crazy desire to make this wonderful island known to the world. On the other hand, there is Jorge, my mentor and the one who encouraged me to start this project (with his help, of course). He has been an entrepreneur since he was very young, even before finishing his degree. In addition, he was champion of Spain in the downhill cycling modality, with which the island of Gran Canaria is known from beginning to end. With this and many hours of work, Local Guide Gran Canaria emerges.
Ruth

Graduated in Tourism and Master in Tourism Management. She is currently dedicated 24/7 to digital and tourism marketing. She is passionate about travel and world cultures, real fooder, former swimmer and marathon runner (yes, these legs have run 42 kilometers in a row). She is responsible for the creation of blog content and the different social media. She will also respond to your comments and questions at info@localguidegrancanaria.com.
Jorge

Diploma in Business Management, in continuous training in digital marketing and the business world. He runs his own company related to fashion and cycling: Chela Clo. He was also Champion of Spain in MTB downhill and, therefore, a great connoisseur of the mountains of Gran Canaria. Jorge is in charge of recording all the cycling tracks, YouTube feature films and developing the strategic lines of the project.
In short, we want you to let you know that Gran Canaria is not just sun and beach and party tourism. We would love to show it to you and be part of your visit to the island with all the free content that we share in Local Guide Gran Canaria. We also offer you our digital guides for a reasonable price and for those who do not have time to spend hours and hours reading and planning. We are sure that Gran Canaria will surprise you!
Hola,
I would like to know if the Hiking Routes, such as the one in the Tamadaba park have route descriptions such as how to get to the start point and to navigate the sections of the route. I know there is a GPX to download.
Thanks,
Mark (England)
Hola Mark! Thanks for your comment.
Every step is marked on the track and you have a complete post and video with more details.
We can send you the start point per email if you do not know where is the parking lot of Tamadaba 🙂
Regards 🙂
