Bochinche Ca’ Tita, the largest portions of Gran Canaria

20/08/2021 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria

If you like to eat a lot, the Bochinche Ca Tita in Marzagán is a must in Gran Canaria. The meaning of bochinche as such comes to be “an establishment where typical food and wine of the country are served“. We discovered it by chance looking for places to eat in Marzagán and it was a surprise. You can not imagine the size of their dishes and portions!

In addition, the price is very reasonable for the quantities and qualities of their dishes. In the same way, once at a table, the service is among the fastest we have seen on the island. Especially considering the capacity of the restaurant. We will explain you in the following lines our experience here

Bochinche Ca Tita

Its specialty is the grilled meat, although they have delicious homemade desserts. We went as a family, there were 5 of us and we ordered fried octopus, the grill for 2 and a half portion of croquettes. Still, some food was left over.

As you can see, both the barbecue for “two” people, as well as the octopus for “one” are huge dishes. In the barbecue dish they include different type of grilled meat, pepper, tomato and sausages, so as some Canarian style potatoes. Concerning the octopus, they serve two pieces and a looooot potatoes with mojo sauce.

Highlight its delicious lemon cake with meringue. A show of flavors.

Their specialty is the grilled meat. However, the fried octopus was delicious. In the same way, from Tuesday to Friday they offer a menu of the day with starter, main dish, bread, drink, dessert or coffee for only 8 euros.

Value for money

As for the price of the a la carte food, we paid about € 11 per person, with coffee or dessert, without wine. However, the quality and quantity of the food deserves, we would have even paid € 20 per person for such a meal. It is true that the site does not offer great luxuries, it is a family establishment. For example, drinks are canned or plastic bottles. Keep in mind that we left over food and you can ask them to prepare it to take away.

Where is the Bochinche Ca Tita

It is in a neighborhood far from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria called Marzagán. The area is not very pretty and it is on a general road. If you are going to eat on their terrace, you will be in the area where cars pass by. However, the interior is quite nice and the meal is worth it. The address you must enter in your navigator is Carretera de Marzagán number 50, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

It is important that you know that they do not accept reservations and people from all over the island come here to eat. Therefore, you must come at the latest at 1:15 pm if you do not want to stand in line. They are open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30 pm and from 8:30 to 10:30 pm. On Sundays, continuous hours from 12:30 to 9:00 pm and Mondays close.
