Circular route in Gravel Bike through Moya

25/01/2023 Por Local Guide Gran Canaria Leave a Comment

In this post we propose a bike route through Moya that is circular. The departure box is in Firgas, although much of the route passes through Moya. Likewise, we will cycle through the municipalities of Artenara and Gáldar. On this route you can pass through the points of interest of Fontanales, Cuevas de Caballero and Pinos de Gáldar. Do not miss it!

Bike route through Moya

The entire first part is uphill and you can do it with any mountain bike. Of course, the lighter, the better, since you will find many asphalted areas and also cement roads. Let’s say the track is 40% by land. The point is that in the area of descent, not even an expert with Gravel Bike could make it whole on the bike. An Enduro or XC double suspension bike would be necessary to make it 100% mounted.

In the case that you go with a rigid MTB or with a Gravel, you will have to walk down around 500 meters through a path with volcanic stones. The rest is quite nice. In the same way, going up you will also have to carry your bike half an hour of the route in total.

Characteristics of the route

The route is 45 km in total and it took us about 4 and a half hours with stops for filming. We recommend carrying at least a litre and a half of water and about 600 kcal of food.
