In this post we propose a bike route through Moya that is circular. The departure box is in Firgas, although much of the route passes through Moya. Likewise, we will cycle through the municipalities of Artenara and Gáldar. On this route you can pass through the points of interest of Fontanales, Cuevas de Caballero and Pinos de Gáldar. Do not miss it!
Bike route through Moya
The entire first part is uphill and you can do it with any mountain bike. Of course, the lighter, the better, since you will find many asphalted areas and also cement roads. Let’s say the track is 40% by land. The point is that in the area of descent, not even an expert with Gravel Bike could make it whole on the bike. An Enduro or XC double suspension bike would be necessary to make it 100% mounted.
In the case that you go with a rigid MTB or with a Gravel, you will have to walk down around 500 meters through a path with volcanic stones. The rest is quite nice. In the same way, going up you will also have to carry your bike half an hour of the route in total.
Duration and distance of the route
The route is 44.70km in total and we take about 4 and a half hours making some stops to record. We recommend bringing at least a liter and a half of water and about 600 kcal of food.
Download the track here
Then you can download the track of the route in .gpx format so that you can follow it on your own without getting lost. If you don’t know how to download it and follow it from your navigator or smartphone with the app Gurú Maps, we’ll explain it to you here. If you want to support us so that we continue to create content for you about Gran Canaria, we will appreciate if you purchase one of our tracks, either to enjoy incredible routes or as a donation.
