The Andén Verde or Mirador del Balcón is one of the most impressive viewpoints in Gran Canaria, as we mentioned in our post with the top 15 viewpoints on the island. It is also called Mirador El Paso Marinero and is located in the southern area of the Tamadaba Natural Park. In this post we will tell you how to get there and some interesting information.
How to get to Andén Verde or Mirador del Balcón
The Mirador del Balcón is located near the town of La Aldea de San Nicolás. Specifically, on the old coastal road that linked La Aldea with Agaete and vice versa. To get here you must drive from Agaete to La Aldea and take the turnoff called Andén Verde. A few meters away you have it. Keep in mind that the La Aldea road is full of curves and is not recommended for passengers who get dizzy. Of course, the views from here are wonderful.
From here you will have a beautiful view of the west coast of Gran Canaria. It may not be appreciated much from this point, but its peaked mountains make this coast resemble the tail of a dragon. On clear days we can also have a nice view of Tenerife, as well as see the sunset.
Andén Verde viewpoint
You should know that we also have the old abandoned Andén Verde viewpoint on the road to Finca Tirma. To get here you must go along the same road from Agaete to La Aldea and take the detour “Finca Tirma”. It is a dead end road and to get to the viewpoint you must pass a green fence.
Of course, you must be careful since there is no fence, therefore, it can be dangerous since what you find in front is the abyss. From here you can have beautiful views of Agaete and the virgin coast of La Aldea.
